Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already landed several television roles, which included the leading role in Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. The audience was impressed by her role as a character in Der Tunnel. This paved the way to other memorable parts, such as Adolf Hitler's Secretariat Traudl Junge. The Reader as well as Der Baader Meinhof Komplex were both nominated for Oscars. Alexandra is well-known for her participation in a variety of notable projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. This includes the British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French historical mini-series Napoleon and many more. The actress also served on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
